No problem, it's one of the one's on my list ;) Takes about 15 minutes now to add a new one. Almost done with GH27.

Do we know the serial/pilot for GY33? Been trying to find out.

BTW... I believe that it's a V, not a Y. Hard to say for certain from photos, but Tim posted this:

Dang, sure looked like a "Y" to me..But considering the graphics I guess it could be a "V" Any chance it was a Typo error on Tim's sheet?

Yep that is a 'V' which means, based on that table, the serial is Z5159...?

Where is this master?

I would like to wip up this one:
Image

BD825 GH-34 of 134 Sqn. This aircraft was being flown by F/Lt Vic Berg when he crashed on the 27th September 1941 killing two ground crew members

The interesting part is that the aircraft has GH-27 but you can clearly see the serial no. is BD825 so I am wondering if the caption is wrong or if the aircraft was later renumbered...

In the background I think I see GA-25..

Got this one almost done Chief ;)

I'm thinking that the 34 is a typo... the 30's were for "B" flight pilots, 20's for "A" flight pilots. Berg was the Flight Leader for "A" flight before the accident that kept him from flying for several years.

Edit: Ah, here's something I found at il2center.com:

On 25 September one of the available Hurricanes of 81 Squadron RAF (no. 25252) was presented to Gen. Kuznetsov. The aeroplane carried no British markings, as these were replaced with red stars, and the code "01" was applied on the fuselage.
Two day later an accident took place. Taking off, F/Lt Vic Berg of 134 Squadron RAF lifted his aeroplane (GH-27, no. BD825) off the ground with two Soviet fitters on the tail. For taxiing fitters were seated on the tail to keep it down. On a soft ground the tail had a tendency to move upwards, which could lead to a damaged propeller, or even a nose-over. This time the fitters failed to jump clear in time. The aeroplane fell from some 15 m. Both fitters were killed, and the pilot suffered severe wounds.

While not historical, a "17" would be much appreciated!

17 was my radio callsign number as a Forward Observer, btw, which is why I number my aircraft that way....

Did we ever get this sorted? Don't see any reply from this end??

To harp back - GO- 25 became GO-31, my a/c.

and GV-33 was the one I flew off the Carrier.

How is everyone?
